Sunday, September 2nd

  • Airport pick-up for Board members & transportation to Omni Hotel

  • 1800 – IACAC Board & Team dinner

 

Monday, September 3rd

  • 1000 – 1600 IACAC Board Business meeting

  • Airport pick-up for early arrivals to Omni Hotel

Tuesday, September 4th – beginning of the conference

  • 0930 – 1200 Registration

  • 1230 – 1300 Gather in hotel lobby

  • 1300 – Walk to the Levine Museum of the New South for a program on Post-Civil War Southern History

  • 1700 – Walk to St. Peters Catholic Church – founded in Charlotte NC in 1851 – for dinner & opening ceremonies

  • 1730 – Opening Ceremony in Church

  • 1830 – Dinner

 

Wednesday, September 5th

  • 0730 – 0830 – Breakfast

  • 0900 – 1000 – Group Prayer & Remarks

  • 1015 – 1230 – Dr. Robert Wicks – Reaching out to others, Chaplains themselves. 

  • 1230 – 1300 – Distribution of Dr. Wick’s latest book, Night Call to all conference attendees

  • 1300 – 1330 – Catholic Mass & Break

  • 1330 – 1430 – Lunch

  • 1430 – 1730 – Dr. Wendy Cadge – Airport Chaplaincy based on her recently published paper God on the Fly?  The Professional Mandates of Airport Chaplains.  You will be engaged in small group discussion and sharing.

  • 1800 – Dinner

 

Thursday, September 6th

  • 0730 – Board buses for the Billy Graham Library

  • 0800 – 0900 – Breakfast at the Library & Group prayer

  • 0900 – 1030 – Tour of the Library – Journey through history with one of the most influential religious voices of the 20th century.  This is a private event exclusively for the IACAC attendees

  • 1030 – 1230 – Tour the Carolina Aviation Museum.  Study the US Airways Airbus A320 which made a miraculous emergency landing on the Hudson River, “Flight 1549. Miracle on the Hudson

  • 1230 – 1400 – Lunch in the Eagle Room of Charlotte Douglas Airport’s Administration Center.  During lunch, the management team of the airport will share about the Airports community involvement

  • 1400 – 1800 – Team building activities at the National Whitewater Center

  • 1800 – 2000 – Dinner

  • 2030 – Evening Prayer or Catholic Mass

 

Friday, September 7th

  • 0730 – 0830 – Breakfast

  • 0845 – 0930 – Group Prayer & Remarks

  • 0930 – 1300 – Dr. Tina Brookes – Care of the Airport Chaplain

  • 1300-1400 – Lunch

  • 1400 – 1430 – Catholic Mass

  • 1430 – 1630 – National Association of Catholic Airport Chaplains annual business meeting

  • 1430 – 1630 – Other regional area meetings

  • 1400 – 1800 – Personal time to explore the 7th Street Market, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Mint Museum or Discovery Place.  All are within walking distance of the Omni Hotel

  • 1900 – Formal Dinner & Closing ceremonies

 

Saturday, September 8th – end of the conference

  • 0730 – 0830 – Breakfast

  • 0830 – 0900- Catholic Mass

  • 0900 – 0915 – Group Prayer

  • 0915 – 1300 – IACAC Business meeting

  • 1330 – Transportation to airport

  • 1500 – Depart Omni for Post-Conference event.  Many details remain but a 4 day trip to Washington DC is a good possibility.
